US tourist falls off 100ft hotel roof, dies in Rome
A United States tourist visiting Rome has died after falling off 100-foot building.
The tourist climbed onto the roof of a hotel in the Italian capital, officials say.
According to Daily Mail on Friday, Javier Francisco Rullan Rubert, 31, from Florida, had been staying at IH Roma Z3 Hotel in Collatino, Rome, for several days on vacation.
On Monday afternoon, at around 4.30 pm, hotel staff found him lying on the floor in a pool of blood after falling from the roof.
Police detectives and forensic teams have begun an investigation that involves reconstructing the man’s final days and establishing any potential contacts he made during that time.
Some of the man’s personal items, including his mobile phone, have been seized by officers to be analysed.
He did not leave a note for family and friends, so officials are scrambling to contact his relatives to better determine the course of events that led to his death.
According to The Italian Insider, investigators are leaning toward suicide but have not ruled out other hypotheses.
