Police hunt for suspect in Bronx street slashing over ice cream payment
Authorities are on the lookout for a man who allegedly turned a mundane disagreement over ice cream payment into a vicious assault in Bronx.
The confrontation, which took place at the busy intersection of Middletown Road and Bruckner Boulevard in Pelham Bay on Monday, has left the community in shock.
According to police reports, what started as an argument between two men about a “payment for ice cream” quickly escalated into violence.
“The man hawking the ice cream began punching the victim,” the police disclosed, highlighting the unexpected ferocity of the attack. The victim, unable to withstand the barrage of punches, fell to the ground.
In a disturbing turn of events, the attacker then produced a knife and slashed the victim across the back of the head. Emergency Medical Services (EMS) were promptly called to the scene, and the victim was transported to NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi. Fortunately, he was reported to be in stable condition, but the attack has left an indelible mark on the local community.
