Supreme Court delivers crushing blow to Trump’s legal maneuvering

Former President Donald Trump faced a significant setback as the Supreme Court dismissed Missouri’s last-ditch effort to intervene in his ongoing legal battles.

The court’s decision ensures that Trump’s gag order remains in place and his sentencing will proceed without delay.

Missouri’s right-wing Attorney General Andrew Bailey, who is currently campaigning for a full term, spearheaded the lawsuit.

Bailey’s filing argued that the gag order and potential sentencing could prevent Missouri voters from hearing Trump’s campaign messages during a crucial period. Critics, however, saw this as a transparent and desperate PR stunt aimed at pandering to Republican voters.

The Supreme Court’s rejection of Missouri’s lawsuit means that Trump’s conviction on 34 counts of falsifying business records—linked to hush money payments to adult film star Stormy Daniels—stands firm. The payments were allegedly made to silence Daniels about an affair with Trump, further entangling the former president in legal woes.
