Snoop Dogg gets playfully trolled by Simone Biles’ mom during hilarious Olympics interview”
The Opening Ceremony of the Paris Olympics had its fair share of memorable moments, but none more entertaining than when Simone Biles’ mother, Nellie Biles, playfully trolled rapper Snoop Dogg during a live interview.
The interaction, which took place on The Today Show with host Hoda Kotb, revealed a humorous anecdote from their past that left viewers in stitches.
As the dazzling ceremony unfolded, Nellie Biles recounted a humorous encounter with the ‘Gin and Juice’ rapper in New York City back in 2010.
With a mischievous glint in her eye, Nellie shared, “I will never forget that we met you in Times Square. 2010. And you said—’cause we asked for a picture—two minutes. One, two, and you were gone,” she laughed, recalling how Snoop had quickly disappeared after promising a photo.
The rapper took the playful jab in stride, laughing off the memory, while Kotb smoothly transitioned to the next topic, ensuring the interview remained light-hearted and engaging.
Simone Biles has made a triumphant return to the Olympic stage, three years after withdrawing from multiple finals at the Tokyo Games to prioritize her mental health. Despite feeling discomfort in her calf, Biles led the U.S. women’s gymnastics team into the finals with a stellar performance. Her return has reignited international discussions about mental health and athletic prowess.
Joining Biles in the all-around during early qualifying were teammates Suni Lee and Jordan Chiles, who secured the top three spots.
Due to Olympic rules limiting countries to two athletes per competition, Chiles will miss the all-around final but remains a strong contender for the floor exercise final. Lee is almost guaranteed spots in the beam and bars finals, while Jade Carey, the 2020 floor exercise champion, is well-positioned to join Biles in the vault final.
The spotlight was firmly on Biles, especially after a brief scare when she left the floor exercise to receive medical attention. U.S. coach Cecile Landi quickly reassured fans, stating that the calf injury was minor. Biles’ performance captivated a star-studded audience that included Tom Cruise, Jessica Chastain, Anna Wintour, and Lady Gaga. Gaga later took to social media to praise Biles, writing, “She nailed it, what an honor to be so close!”
