Concerns over community safety are rising after a resident of 1501 Metropolitan Avenue issued a public warning about a woman repeatedly spotted inside their apartment building.

In a post shared by Tywana Perez, a concerned resident and mother, she recounted a recent incident where she encountered the same woman she had previously seen inside her building and on her floor earlier in the week. According to Perez, the woman appeared to be preparing to enter the building again but quickly walked away upon noticing her holding a phone.

“I called security and complained, even though she walked off,” Perez wrote. “She shouldn’t be entertaining the building. She isn’t from here.”

Perez urged fellow residents not to allow the unidentified woman into the building and to call the police if she is seen again. Expressing concerns about potential criminal activity, she warned, “For all we know she could be here to rob us or see who is an easy target… to let another individual come into the building and stick us up by gunpoint.”

She emphasized the importance of community vigilance, particularly for families and children living in the building. “This is our community,” Perez stated. “If not for your neighbors, at least for yourself and your own family.”

Residents are being encouraged to report any suspicious activity to building security or contact 911 directly if they feel immediate police assistance is needed.
