Vice President Harris praises president Biden’s accomplishments
Vice-President Kamala Harris took the opportunity to commend President Joe Biden and his achievements during her first public remarks since he endorsed her for president. Speaking at an event on the South Lawn of the White House, Harris lauded Biden’s “legacy of accomplishment over the past three years,” stating that he has surpassed the achievements of most presidents who have served two terms in office.
Harris highlighted Biden’s honesty, integrity, commitment to faith and family, as well as his love for the country. She expressed her gratitude for his service to the nation, emphasizing his relentless dedication to fighting for the American people. The vice president also provided an update on Biden’s health, stating that he is “feeling much better” and “recovering fast” from his recent Covid diagnosis.
Following Biden’s endorsement and withdrawal from the 2024 presidential race, the spotlight now shines on Harris. Scores of Democrats, including prominent governors and lawmakers, have since endorsed her for the presidential nomination. However, some congressional leaders, such as Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, have not yet explicitly expressed their support.
While Harris refrained from addressing her presidential campaign during the official White House event, she indicated that she plans to discuss her candidacy, the path forward, and her strategy for defeating former President Donald Trump at a later date. Additionally, she mentioned her intention to travel to Wilmington, Delaware, to meet with campaign staff.
