BP Gibson joins Bronxites to open BxCM for children, families
The Bronx Children’s Museum (BxCM) has opened for our children and families to enjoy.
This was disclosed in a statement by the Bronx Borough President, Vanessa L. Gibson, on Tuesday November 22, 2022.
According to Gibson, the new museum will serve as a space of creativity, innovation and exploration for the youth.
“This museum has been in the works since 2010, spanning three mayoral administrations and three Bronx Borough Presidents.
“The Bronx Borough President’s Office has donated over $3 million to BxCM,” Gibson said.
She added, “During my time as a New York City Council Member for District 16, I allocated $3,048,000 since FY’15. I believed in this project since its early days and I am so proud to see it come to life.”
BxCM has ongoing in-school, after-school and summer programming throughout the borough at community-based organizations, schools, shelters, libraries, local festivals and parks that will carry on in this beautiful new facility.
While thanking everyone involved in bringing the project to fruition, Gibson stated that the Bronx Children’s Museum will help create tomorrow’s leaders and usher a generation of curious, innovative youth onto the world stage.
