Assemblywoman, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, has said that neither sentencing the killer of George Lyod nor staging a mass demonstration is enough  justice for the African-American.

Alexandra said this after the police officer who murder Flyod was found guilty in the murder charge.

AOC said, "That a family had to lose a son, brother and father; that a teenage girl had to film and post a murder; that millions across the country had to organize and march just for George Floyd to be seen and valued is not justice."

She added, "And this verdict is not a substitute for policy change."

The former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin was found guilty on all three counts in the death of George Floyd.

According to a report, Chauvin will be sentenced in 8 weeks.

"The maximum sentence for second-degree murder is 40 years in prison, but Minnesota sentencing guidelines suggest he's more likely to receive up to 15 years," the report says.

"However, the state is permitted to ask for the full 40 years," it adds.

George Perry Floyd was an African-American man murdered by police during an arrest after a store clerk alleged he had passed a counterfeit $20 bill in Minneapolis. Derek Chauvin, one of four police officers who arrived on the scene, knelt on Floyd's neck and back for 9 minutes and 29 seconds.
