Trump laments poor construction of border wall segment
President Trump has faulted the new border wall constructed by Fisher Industries of North Dakota.
While expressing his bitterness about the quality of the construction, Trump lamented that a section of the wall had begun to show a sign of erosion, months after it was constructed.
In a tweet on Sunday July 12, 2020, the president expressed displeasure at the eroding section of the wall which cost $42 million.
He stressed that the construction was intended to embarrass him.
“I disagreed with doing this very small (tiny) section of wall, in a tricky area, by a private group which raised money by ads.
“It was only done to make me look bad, and perhaps it now doesn’t even work. Should have been built like rest of Wall, 500 plus miles,” Mr. Trump tweeted.
Reacting to Mr. Trump’s complaint, the company said the President was being misinformed. It added that the wall would stand for nothing less than a hundred and fifty years.
“The wall will stand for 150 years, you mark my words,” said the Fisher Industries of North Dakota.
Engineers and hydrology experts alike have expressed concern over the earlier sign of erosion in the Rio Grande Valley which spans about three miles.
They pointed out that the section could come down any time soon if urgent action is not taken.
Giving additional details about the entire walls, Mr President tweeted further disclosing that about 240 Miles walls have so far been built Southern Border and that over 450 Miles more would be built by the year end.
“We have now built 240 Miles of new Border Wall on our Southern Border. We will have over 450 Miles built by the end of the year. Have established some of the best Border Numbers ever,“ Trump tweeted.
Mr, Trump, however, claimed that the numbers of walls already built have been condemned. He noted that critics say the numbers are mere exaggerated value by the president.
“They say that many of the walls being built are mere replacements of the old walls,” Trump added.
