Anti-Israel protester surrenders after subway confrontation sparks manhunt
Anas Saleh, the anti-Israel protester who demanded that “Zionists” on a packed New York City subway car raise their hands, turned himself in following a manhunt.
Saleh surrendered early Wednesday after police released a wanted poster featuring his face, stemming from the incident at Manhattan’s Union Square station. He was charged with coercion, according to sources.
The incident occurred on June 10, when Saleh allegedly boarded a southbound 5 train at Union Square and began chanting, “Raise your hands if you’re a Zionist, repeat after me, this is your chance to get out.”
That same night, a mob of anti-Israel protesters swarmed an exhibit in downtown Manhattan that memorialized music festival goers who were slaughtered and kidnapped by Hamas during the October 7 terror attacks.
