Police seek gunman responsible for gunshot during dispute in North Bronx

The New York City Police Department (NYPD) has launched a search for a suspect accused of attempted assault on a taxi driver in the North Bronx.

The NYPD has released a photograph of the wanted man, seeking information from the public to aid in his apprehension.

The incident unfolded around 4 a.m. near Bronx Boulevard and Carpenter Avenue in the Olinville neighborhood of the North Bronx.

According to reports, a 26-year-old taxi driver was driving in the area when a dispute erupted between him and his passenger, who is now the primary suspect in the case.

Amid the escalating argument, the situation turned dangerous when the suspect abruptly leaped out of the moving cab and allegedly fired a gun at the taxi.

The bullet struck the vehicle’s passenger door, fortunately leaving the driver unharmed. Following the gunfire, the assailant fled the scene, disappearing into the darkness in an unknown direction.

The NYPD is urging anyone with pertinent information regarding this incident or the identity and whereabouts of the suspect to come forward and assist in the ongoing investigation.
