NYPD manhunt intensifies for ‘El Burro’ after shooting woman at Bronx dance party
New York City Police Department (NYPD) has launched an intensive search for a suspect known as “El Burro” — the Donkey — following a disturbing incident at an underground dance party in the Bronx early Monday morning.
The suspect allegedly shot a 20-year-old woman multiple times after she rejected his advances, causing panic and chaos among partygoers.
The victim recounted the harrowing ordeal, stating that she was enjoying the party with friends in a basement on 165th Street around midnight when “El Burro” offered her a drink and initiated dancing. However, the situation quickly escalated when the suspect inappropriately grabbed her buttocks, prompting her to forcefully push him away and seek refuge in the bathroom.
While she was in the bathroom, the victim heard loud gunfire erupting, only to realize moments later that she had been struck by multiple bullets in her legs, arms, and hand. Witnesses at the scene reportedly blamed “El Burro” for the shooting, with others stating that he had “messed up.”
Following the attack, the victim’s friends promptly transported her to Bronx Care Hospital just before 4 a.m., where medical personnel treated her for injuries sustained to her left hand, right elbow, right knee, and left leg.
Authorities describe “El Burro” as a dark-skinned Hispanic male, believed to be from Venezuela, aged in his mid-20s to early 30s, standing approximately 6-foot-3 and weighing around 190 pounds. The NYPD is urging anyone with information on the suspect’s whereabouts or identity to come forward immediately.
This incident has sparked heightened concern and urgency within the community, underscoring the need to apprehend the perpetrator and ensure public safety. Investigators are diligently pursuing all leads to bring “El Burro” to justice and provide closure to the victim and her loved ones.
The NYPD continues to appeal to the public for assistance in this ongoing investigation, emphasizing the gravity of the situation and the importance of cooperation in identifying and apprehending the individual responsible for this senseless act of violence.
