Hunt for suspect intensifies in Bronx McDonald’s double shooting
Bronx detectives have ramped up efforts to locate a suspect following a tragic double shooting that occurred at a McDonald’s restaurant in Melrose last week, leaving one man dead and another fighting for his life.
The NYPD released photos and video footage of the suspect, appealing to the public for assistance in identifying and apprehending the individual believed to be responsible for this heinous crime.
The incident unfolded in the early hours of April 15 when officers rushed to 279 East 149 St. in response to a distressing 911 call reporting gunfire. Upon arrival at the scene, police discovered two men inside a 2015 Nissan Rogue, both suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

The victims, ages 24 and 31, were found in critical condition, soaked in blood, as they sat inside the vehicle parked outside the McDonald’s. Emergency Medical Services (EMS) swiftly transported the injured men to NYC Health and Hospitals/Lincoln Hospital for urgent medical attention.
Tragically, despite medical efforts, the 24-year-old victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital. The 31-year-old victim remains in critical condition, battling for survival.
Law enforcement officials disclosed that no weapons were recovered from the scene, highlighting the complexity of the ongoing investigation. Detectives are diligently piecing together evidence and scouring surveillance footage in a determined effort to unravel the circumstances surrounding the shooting and bring the perpetrator to justice.
Authorities urge anyone with information, no matter how insignificant it may seem, to come forward and assist in identifying the individual captured in the images.
