Muslim World League forges international alliances
Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa, the Secretary General of the Muslim World League (MWL) and Chairman of the Muslim Scholars Association, hosted a delegation from the United States Congress led by Congressman Andre Carson at the MWL sub-headquarters in Riyadh.
The meeting aimed to bolster friendship and cooperation between nations, focusing on collaborative efforts to combat extremism and bridge cultural differences. The discussions touched upon various topics aimed at fostering a better understanding and a more peaceful world.
The US delegation applauded the MWL’s groundbreaking initiative at the UN headquarters in New York City, which seeks to build bridges between the East and West. The league’s unwavering stance on the Gaza war was also emphasized, with Al-Issa condemning the violation of international humanitarian law and expressing concern over the tragic loss of innocent lives, particularly women and children.
In another significant diplomatic engagement, Dr. Al-Issa welcomed Dr. Gohar Ejaz, the Pakistani Minister of Commerce, Industries, and Production, and Interior Minister, accompanied by Aftab Akbar Durrani, Pakistan’s Interior Secretary, at the MWL’s sub-headquarters in Riyadh.
The discussions between the two sides covered a spectrum of common interests on both Islamic and international levels, exploring potential avenues for collaboration. Dr. Ejaz lauded the MWL’s pivotal role in conveying the true message of Islam to the world and acknowledged its duty to represent Muslim nations in international forums.
Highlighting the historic and enduring relations between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan, Al-Issa underscored the significant position of Pakistan in upholding Islamic principles. He expressed gratitude for the MWL scholars’ efforts, describing the MWL journey as one of Saudi Arabia’s commendable deeds bestowed upon the Islamic world. The discussions also saw appreciation for Saudi Vision 2030 and its accomplishments in the comprehensive transformation of the Kingdom, particularly its prominent global role.
