Assault, robbery incident involving for-hire driver unfolds near LeFrak City

In an unsettling incident that transpired earlier this month, a for-hire driver was subjected to a brutal assault and robbery by a trio of passengers near the vicinity of LeFrak City, as reported by the New York City Police Department (NYPD).

According to law enforcement officials, the incident took place on the morning of Friday, August 4th, at approximately 5:30 a.m.

The 22-year-old victim found himself embroiled in a verbal altercation with two female passengers while situated near 99-49 Horace Harding Expressway in Corona.

Regrettably, this dispute swiftly escalated into physical violence, as the women began to physically assault the driver through punches and kicks.

To exacerbate matters, an unidentified male, the third passenger, interceded, amplifying the attack.

Acting in concert, all three assailants forcefully seized the victim’s car keys in an attempt to abscond with his vehicle; however, their efforts proved futile.

With vehemence unabated, the male and female culprits inflicted further damage to the vehicle, shattering the window and disabling the dashcam.

In addition to these acts, they also seized the victim’s wallet. Following the assault, the trio fled the scene on foot, heading westbound along Horace Harding Expressway toward LeFrak City.

Authorities have recently released surveillance imagery of the three individuals involved, augmenting efforts to apprehend them. One of the female attackers is described as possessing a dark complexion, standing approximately 5 feet 2 inches tall, with a medium build and sporting long braids. She was last seen wearing a gray romper.

A second female assailant, with a light complexion and a slender physique, stands at around 5 feet 6 inches tall. She is adorned with a multitude of tattoos on her arms, legs, and sternum, and is distinguished by the absence of a front tooth. During the incident, she was attired in a black hooded sweatshirt.

The third member of the group, a male suspect, is characterized by a dark complexion and a height of approximately 5 feet 10 inches, with a slender build. He was observed wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, embellished with an emblem of a clenched fist on the chest, accompanied by dark-colored pants.

To facilitate their prompt apprehension, a reward of up to $3,500 has been pledged for any information leading to the arrest of the individuals involved.
