Brave bystanders thwart attack on woman in NYC, suspect apprehended
A group of good Samaritans stepped in to apprehend a man who viciously attacked a 56-year-old woman in New York City early Sunday morning. The incident took place near Broadway and West 69th Street, as the victim was walking with her husband just after midnight, as per the NYPD’s report.
According to authorities, the assailant suddenly struck the woman in the face, prompting her husband to spring into action. He immediately gave chase to the perpetrator, desperately seeking help from passersby. Fortunately, a group of courageous men witnessed the scene and decided to intervene.
The good Samaritans managed to halt the assailant in his tracks, putting an end to the horrifying assault. During the confrontation, one of the heroes reportedly resorted to using a knife to protect the victim and subdue the attacker, according to the police.
As a result of their collective efforts, law enforcement swiftly took the suspect into custody. He was subsequently treated at a nearby hospital for his injuries, with pending charges awaiting him.
Thankfully, the victim’s injuries were minor, and she did not require hospitalization, leaving the city’s residents grateful for the selfless actions of these brave individuals who came to her aid.
