Parkchester Library opens Monday

Authorities have announced a date for the opening of Parkchester Library.

This was disclosed in a statement on Tuesday July 18, 2023.

According to the statement, the library will open on Monday July 24, 2023.

“We are excited to announce that Parkchester Library will reopen on Monday, July 24, following improvements at the branch,” the statement reads.

It states that the library has expanded and enhanced its Teen Center, adding a new recording studio and state-of-the-art technology, including 3-D printers, photographic equipment, musical instruments, and more.

The statement unveiled that new flooring was installed on the first floor as well.

Service at Parkchester Library will include esources for adults, children, and teens family storytimes, browsing and holds pickup.

Others are computer and laptop use as well as free Wi-Fi.

The library will host a welcome back event on Saturday, July 29, from 1 to 4 PM, where teens can try out the exciting new opportunities now available at the Teen Center, adults can participate in crafting sessions, and family storytimes will be taking place on the children’s floor.

The Teen Center at Parkchester Library will be one of 14 spaces to open this year, the result of City funding to provide dynamic programs and services for students.
