Following up on our May 3 health feature “Is there a COVID medicine I can take without going to the hospital?” it was a treat to speak with the doctors in charge of the largest current clinical trial of a COVID-19 medicine proposed for use at home. While the SARS-CoV-2 virus is the cause of COVID-19 illness, it is the human body's inflammatory overreaction that often proves most damaging or deadly. To explain this, and how colchicine can potentially help, it gives us great pleasure to present Dr. Jean-Claude Tardif of the Montreal Heart Institute with Dr. Binita Shah and Dr. Michael Pillinger of NYU.
