UAE government has announced that UAE citizens and residents will be allowed to travel abroad from 23 June, 2020.

This was disclosed in a joint statement issued on Monday June 15, 2020, by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship, and the National Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management Authorities.

The authorities maintained that certain groups of UAE citizens and residents would be allowed to travel abroad to certain destinations from next week.

They stated further that there will be conditions and procedures under which people will be able to fly to some select destinations, though the details have not yet been announced.

The new travel details, including the groups authorised to travel, and the adherence procedures throughout the travel for emiratis and residents, will be announced later.

According to the statement, the travel decision was made sequel to the positive developments recorded from evaluations conducted by authorities with regards to COVID-19 in the country.

UAE has suspended commercial passenger flights in and out of the country since 24 March, 2020, following the coronavirus outbreak.

Airlines have mainly been operating cargo and repatriation flights during this time while a 14-day quarantine period is in place for all travellers arriving in the Arab nation.

Travel agents in UAE anticipate a full return to international travels by September, 2020.
