Trump Declares Biden’s Pardons “VOID” Over Autopen Signing, Calls for Investigation

U.S. President Donald Trump has fiercely rejected recent pardons issued by President Joe Biden, claiming they are illegitimate because they were signed using an autopen rather than Biden’s actual signature.
In a scathing post on his social media platform, Trump not only dismissed the pardons but also suggested that those involved could face legal repercussions.
Trump posted: “The ‘Pardons’ that Sleepy Joe Biden gave to the Unselect Committee of Political Thugs, and many others, are hereby declared VOID, VACANT, AND OF NO FURTHER FORCE OR EFFECT, because of the fact that they were done by Autopen.”
He went on to argue that Biden was unaware of the pardons and did not personally approve them: “In other words, Joe Biden did not sign them but, more importantly, he did not know anything about them! The necessary Pardoning Documents were not explained to, or approved by, Biden. He knew nothing about them, and the people that did may have committed a crime.”
Trump’s statement escalated into a broader accusation, targeting members of the House Select Committee that investigated the January 6th Capitol riot, which he has repeatedly referred to as the “Unselect Committee.”
He alleged that these individuals deliberately deleted crucial evidence: “Therefore, those on the Unselect Committee, who destroyed and deleted ALL evidence obtained during their two-year Witch Hunt of me, and many other innocent people, should fully understand that they are subject to investigation at the highest level.”
Trump concluded by branding Biden as “the Worst President in the History of our Country” and suggesting that those involved in the pardons may have acted without Biden’s consent: “The fact is, they were probably responsible for the Documents that were signed on their behalf without the knowledge or consent of the Worst President in the History of our Country, Crooked Joe Biden!”
The claim that Biden used an autopen—a device that mechanically replicates a signature—has sparked debate over the validity of the pardons. While autopen usage is legal for certain presidential actions, critics argue that its use in pardons raises constitutional and ethical concerns.
The Biden administration has yet to respond to Trump’s remarks, but legal experts suggest that unless explicitly prohibited, autopen-signed pardons remain legally binding. However, Trump’s call for an investigation could further intensify political tensions ahead of the 2024 election cycle.
