Trump: Fulton County racketeering case loses more charges
Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis encountered a setback in her high-profile racketeering case against former President Donald Trump.
The case, already under intense scrutiny, saw Fulton County Superior Court Judge Scott McAfee dismiss two more charges against Trump, along with an additional charge against his co-defendants.
As a result, Trump now faces eight charges instead of the original 13.
Judge McAfee’s ruling focused on the jurisdictional boundaries of the dismissed charges, which were related to the filing of false documents.

According to the judge, these charges fall under federal jurisdiction, thereby placing them beyond the prosecutorial reach of Willis under the Constitution’s supremacy clause.
This latest decision builds upon a previous ruling from March, where six other charges were similarly dropped.
The cumulative effect of these rulings has significantly narrowed the scope of the case against Trump, providing a legal victory for the former president as he continues to navigate a complex legal landscape.
