Migrant stabbed outside Randall’s Island, police begin investigation
A migrant has been reportedly stabbed during an altercation outside the Randall’s Island Humanitarian Emergency Response and Relief Center.
According to a report, law enforcement agents had responded swiftly to the scene at Field 82 after a 911 call alerted them to the attack around 10:33 a.m.
Sources stated that a 26-year-old man suffered a stab wound to the abdomen during the altercation.
“The suspect fled the scene immediately after the attack, and it remains unclear whether they were also an asylum seeker residing at the center,” a source said.
Emergency Medical Services (EMS) transported the victim to Harlem Hospital, where he is reported to be in stable condition and expected to survive.
The police described the suspect as wearing all black clothing, but as of now, no arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing.
The authorities are working diligently to gather more information and determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
