Fatal shooting erupts at Queens baby shower, kills one person, injures 3

A celebratory occasion turned into tragedy as gunfire erupted at a baby shower held inside the All That Jazz dance studio located at 108-11 Atlantic Ave. in Richmond Hill, Queens.

The incident, which occurred around 1:30 a.m., resulted in the death of a 24-year-old man and left three others seriously wounded.

Upon responding to a 911 call, law enforcement officers discovered the 24-year-old victim with a gunshot wound to the chest.

Despite immediate medical attention by EMS, the young man succumbed to his injuries shortly after being transported to Jamaica Hospital.

The chaos within the dance studio also left a 45-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the left leg and a 26-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the right arm. Both victims were swiftly taken to NewYork-Presbyterian Queens Hospital, where they are currently in stable condition, according to officials.

In a subsequent turn of events, authorities learned of a fourth victim, a 43-year-old man, who had independently made his way to Jamaica Hospital for treatment. The man had sustained two gunshot wounds to his right arm and had also been struck in the left leg. He is reported to be in stable condition at the hospital.

The motive behind the deadly shooting remains elusive, with investigators yet to establish a clear understanding of what prompted the violence. At this stage, the NYPD has not released any details regarding a suspect’s identity or description.

This harrowing incident has sent shockwaves through the community, raising concerns about public safety and the escalating gun violence in New York City.
