Dismissed New York teachers file lawsuit against city
New York City teachers who were fired for not getting the COVID-19 vaccine have filed a lawsuit against the city for unlawful termination.
The teachers stated that they are ready to seek justice because the vaccine mandate has been lifted.
According to some of the teachers, they were forced to get the vaccine in order to keep their jobs and be able to put food on the table for their families.
Although the teachers have been given the green light to reapply for teaching jobs, they are seeking back pay for the time they missed, a report unveiled.
The mayor’s office issued a statement saying, “Numerous courts have upheld the city’s vaccine mandate and its process for granting reasonable accommodations to employees. We’ll review this new case once we are served.”
