NY leaders join Sen Sepulveda to declare October Healthy Lifestyle Month
New York leaders have joined Senator Sepulveda to declare October Healthy Lifestyle Month.
The declaration was made Saturday October 22, 2022, at Lincoln Hospital after the Senate’s proclamation of the bill which was sponsored by Senator Luis Sepulveda.
Speaking at the event, the initiator of the campaign, Sheikh Musa Drammeh, appreciated Senator Sepulveda for the active roles towards the transformation of the Bronx County’s health and safety status.
“Today was a testament to the commitment we all have about saving lives and taxpayers dollars being spent on costly ailments that are mostly preventable,” Drammeh said.
He added that healthy lifestyle is best, cheapest and most effective healthcare for individuals, families, organizations and governments.
“This Healthy Lifestyle Month resolution is the first of many basic tools that are readily available to us to help maximize our healthy lifestyle campaign. We appreciate Senator Sepulveda, Assemblyman Burgos and Mayor Adams’ personal testimony and renewed commitment to our healthy lifestyle campaign.
“Together with genuine commitment, we will transform our deplorable health and safety conditions and disparities,” he stated.
At the event were New York leaders: Senator Luis Sepulveda; Assemblyman Kenneth Burgos; Mayor Eric Adams, and Mr. Stephen Ritz.
Others were Dr. Gloria Bent; Dr. Abdoulaye Balde, James J. Dobbins, Jennifer Onomo, Edna Thomas-Granger; health expert host Dr. Bola Omotosho and Borough President Vanessa Gibson.
