Bronx Week Parade Across Mosholu Parkway
By Robert Press
The grand finale to ten days of Bronx Week ended with the Bronx Week Parade, International Food and Music Festivals.
The parade marchers lined up on Mosholu Parkway between Southern Boulevard and Hull Avenue. Two new Smart cars from the NYPD led the hundreds of marchers West across the parkway to the reviewing stand at Van Cortlandt Avenue where Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr., his Co-Host Roxy Digital, Deputy Bronx BP Marika Scott-Mcfadden, Bronx Week Honoree Iran Barkley, and several Bronx VIP's were seated.
Various Bronx schools, community organizations, and Bronx Week sponsors marched past the review stand, with some schools or community organizations performing for both Bronx BP Diaz Jr. and the crowd gathered in the seating area across the street.
When the parade ended it was time to go to the other side of Mosholu Parkway to enjoy some of the International food for sale. There were also games and rides for the children. Then it was then East across the parkway to the concert area by Bainbridge Avenue for the Music Festival topped off by world famous Rapper Fat Joe.
