3 Malaysian poets receive international literary awards
Three prominent poets from Malaysia have been honoured by Motivational Strips and Gujarat Sahitya Academy.
The Malaysian poets: Lilian Woo, Dr. Paul Sebastian and Alan Liew were honored during India’s 74th Independence Day.
Motivational Strips is the world’s most active writers forum with writers from 163 countries.
The forum has monthly visitors crossing 7.5 million which makes it the most engrossing and active in world literature.
For the first time in history, they had collaborated with India’s highly respected literary institution, Gujarat Sahitya Academy’ to honour 350 writers from 80 countries, for their merits in literary excellence and contribution to world literature.
The award ceremony was done after stringent evaluation by both literary bodies In honour of India’s 74th Independence Day.
The founder and president of Motivational Strips, Shiju H. Pallithazheth, has applauded the efforts of Malaysian Poets for having created a respected space in world literature arena.
The Chairman of Gujarat Sahitya Academy, Dr Vishnu Pandya, stated that this honour will remain historical for generations to come.
"Our poets Lilian Woo, Dr Paul Sebastian and Alan Liew, have brought pride to the nation and Malaysia’s literary circle, after having won an honour of this stature," Pandya said.
"This literary endowment would remain as a case study for many more poets from Malaysia to keep faith on their pen.
"The impact in global literature during the coming years looks prosperous for Malaysia," he added.
