The Senate Judiciary Committee will be at the center of questioning Donald Trump’s cabinet nominees, including key figures like Kash Patel and Pam Bondi. While Senator Dick Durbin (D-IL) will remain the ranking Democrat on the committee, Representative Adam Schiff (D-CA) is also joining the team to conduct the interviews.
“I’m already popping corn for the Schiff/Patel showdown,” remarked national security expert Marcy Wheeler on X, signaling anticipation for the contentious exchange.
Additionally, CBS’s Scott MacFarlane reported that Schiff is inviting Washington, D.C. officer Daniel Hodges to the Joint Session of Congress that will formally certify Trump’s victory. Hodges was among the officers attacked by MAGA supporters during the January 6th Capitol riot. The developments mark the growing tension surrounding Trump’s appointees and the ongoing scrutiny of the events surrounding his presidency.
