Poughkeepsie man arrested for fatal shooting of Bayonne resident
Jayquan Straker, 35, of Poughkeepsie, was apprehended on Saturday morning in connection with the shooting death of 31-year-old Javier Osorio-Mejia, known by his street name “Upscale Cracc.”
The incident occurred on June 25 in the bustling neighborhood of Soho.
Osorio-Mejia, a resident of Bayonne, NJ, was fatally shot three times in his right leg during a brazen robbery outside a clothing store located at 41 Greene St. The time of the attack was marked at 5:15 a.m., raising questions about the circumstances leading up to the incident.
The store, Stone Island, is situated at this address, though it remains unclear what Osorio-Mejia was doing in the area at such an early hour.
