Actor Steve Buscemi assaulted in NYC
A renowned actor Steve Buscemi, 66, and a native of Brooklyn, was assaulted during a stroll through Kips Bay last week. The attack, described as unprovoked and broad-daylight, left Buscemi with facial swelling and injuries to his left eye, requiring treatment at Bellevue Hospital.
According to police reports, the assault occurred around 11:48 a.m. on Wednesday in front of 369 Third Ave. The perpetrator, described as a “brute” and “deranged” by witnesses, fled the scene and remains at large. Authorities are actively searching for the assailant.
Steve Buscemi is widely recognized for his role as Enoch “Nucky” Thompson in the acclaimed HBO series “Boardwalk Empire,” where he garnered significant acclaim.
This recent attack marks the second instance this year of a cast member from the series becoming a victim of random violence on the streets of New York City.
