Manhattan police launch search for suspect in shocking assault on elderly woman
The New York Police Department (NYPD) has launched a search for a suspect believed to be responsible for an assault on a 71-year-old woman in Manhattan, based on an image released to the public.
The incident occurred on April 13 at approximately 2:15 p.m. near East 59th Street and Third Avenue.
According to NYPD reports, the victim was walking in the area when she was attacked from behind by an unidentified woman believed to be around 50 years old. The assailant allegedly approached the elderly woman and forcibly pulled her walker, causing the victim to fall to the ground and sustain minor injuries.
Following the assault, the suspect quickly fled the scene and was last observed heading westbound on East 59th Street. The NYPD has since circulated an image of the suspect, appealing to the public for any information that may lead to her identification and apprehension.
