New York City has begun a plan to host a grand celebration of Abrahamic Eid al-Adha this summer, as the Muslim Advisory Council, in collaboration with a diverse array of partners, prepares for a vibrant communal festival on Sunday, June 16, 2024.

The event, scheduled from 2:00 to 6:00 PM, will take place at the state-of-the-art Dreiser Loop Community Center located at 177 Dreiser Loop, Co-op City, New York 10475.

This unique initiative is made possible through the concerted efforts of several organizations, including the New York State Council of Churches, Bronx Clergy Task Force, and the New York State Governor’s Office of Faith and Nonprofit Development Services, alongside other prominent entities such as the Co-op City Mosque and Islamic Cultural Center of North America. The event is also supported by sponsors like the Council of People’s Organization, HealthFirst, Bent On Wellness, and TBS New Direction, among others.

The Abrahamic Eid al-Adha festival aims to commemorate Prophet Abraham’s unwavering commitment to sacrifice, a significant event in Islamic tradition. For Muslims worldwide, Eid al-Adha marks the most significant annual celebration, emphasizing unity, faith, and the spirit of giving.

Participation and sponsorship opportunities for this landmark event are open to interested organizations and individuals. Those keen to contribute or engage in this cultural celebration are encouraged to reach out via email at MuslimAdvisoryCouncil@gmail.com.

This upcoming festival promises to be a colorful and inclusive gathering, welcoming political figures, religious leaders, and diplomats from the United Nations, all joining together to celebrate the rich cultural heritage and values embodied in Abrahamic Eid al-Adha.

Through this event, New York City embraces diversity and strengthens communal bonds, exemplifying the spirit of unity and understanding.
