Unknown gunmen assassinate Nigerian senatorial candidate, set vehicle ablaze
A Nigerian senatorial candidate under the umbrella of the Labour Party, Oyibo Chukwu, has been assassinated.
The candidate who was representing Enugu East Senatorial district was set ablaze alongside other occupants in the branded campaign vehicle, a report said.
It was also reported that senatorial the candidate was burnt inside his vehicle, but it was not yet known how many people were with him in the vehicle.
Unidentified gunmen were said to have accosted them while riding in a Sienna vehicle and shot at the occupants before setting the vehicle ablaze.
