Catholic Guardian Services, a New York-based human services organization, has fixed a date for its first annual health fair.

While disclosing this in a statement on Wednesday May 18, 2022, Executive Director, Catholic Guardian, Craig Longley, stated that the Health Fair will hold on Wednesday May 25, 2022, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

According to Longley, the community event will be held outside of the CGS Family Counseling and Wellness Center, located at 1990 Westchester Avenue in the Bronx.

“We are delighted to partner with New York State Assemblymember Karines Reyes and her team to raise awareness about the Family Center and the array of mental health services that are available to any family that comes through our doors,” Longley said.

“As children and families continue to adjust to life in a COVID world and navigate other significant challenges, seeking mental health services is more important than ever. We want to let Bronx residents know that we are here for them," he added.

During the event, clinicians from Catholic Guardian will be on hand to greet guests and distribute bi-lingual brochures and other essential materials.

They’ll be joined by Assemblymember Reyes and staff from the Mott Haven Academy Charter School and the Bronx Charter School for Excellence.

Representatives from area health centers are also expected to attend, joining Catholic Guardian and other participants as they recognize Mental Health Awareness Month.

Refreshments will be provided by local businesses, and a number of giveaways – including keychains, stress balls, and tote bags – will be available.

“With a shared vision of a healthier Bronx, Catholic Guardian Services and my office are teaming up to erase the stigma of mental health and spotlight the life-changing services that Catholic Guardian provides,” Reyes says.

CGS has been supporting children and families through holistic, trauma-informed services for more than 100 years.
