Fernando Cabrera to co-name street for Bronx Rapper Big Pun
Council Member Fernando Cabrera has announced that he would be holding a street co-naming ceremony honoring Bronx rapper “Big Pun” on Monday, March 22, 2021 by 12:00PM.
“I’m proud to memorialize and honor Christopher Lee Rios, better known as Big Pun, by co-naming this intersection ‘Big Pun Plaza.’ Big Pun was a Bronx native whose music brought much acclaim as the first Latino solo rapper to achieve platinum status. In his short life, he inspired many fans and helped re-brand the Bronx as place where creativity reigns in popular music.”
The ceremony, according to the press release sent to Parkchester Times, is scheduled to take place at Southwest corner of E. Fordham Road and Grand Concourse Bronx, NY.
Family members of Big Pun and entertainers from the rap music industry are expected to grace the ocassion.
