Man Dies in Westchester Avenue Shooting

On 12/20/2018 A man has died following a shooting on Westchester Avenue, between Castle Hill Ave. & Purdy St. in Parkchester. Police were called to the scene in front of 2167 Westchester Ave. at around 6:15 p.m. Thursday. The address is the home of a Marine Corps office. A military source says the man shot was a civilian.
Police say a 23-year-old man was shot in the lower back. He was taken to
Jacobi Hospital where he died from his injuries. Authorities searched many stores in the busy area of the scene for evidence.
