U.S. President Donald Trump has issued a grave warning over rising tensions with Iran, saying a catastrophic outcome could unfold if ongoing developments are not urgently addressed.
In a post that has since drawn global attention, Trump declared, “A whole civilization will die tonight, never to be brought back again. I don’t want that to happen, but it probably will,” underscoring the seriousness of the situation.
He went further to suggest that the crisis could mark a turning point for Iran, stating, “Now that we have complete and total regime change… maybe something revolutionarily wonderful can happen. We will find out tonight—one of the most important moments in the long and complex history of the world.”
The warning follows an earlier ultimatum reportedly issued by Trump, giving Iran 48 hours to reach a deal or face severe consequences. Central to his remarks was the strategic importance of the Strait of Hormuz, a critical maritime corridor for global oil supply.
“Remember when I gave Iran ten days to make a deal or open the Hormuz Strait? Time is running out,” Trump said, adding that “all hell will rain down” if the situation is not resolved within the stated timeframe.
Tensions have been further heightened by reports of military clashes, including claims from Iranian authorities that two U.S. warplanes were shot down—one in Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad province and another in the Gulf. Efforts are ongoing to locate a missing weapons officer linked to one of the aircraft.
The developments come in the wake of escalated hostilities involving the United States and Israel, including reported military actions against Iran earlier this year, even as diplomatic negotiations were ongoing.
While Trump has not provided specific details about the proposed deal, his rhetoric signals a continuation of hardline positions. His comments also echo previous threats in which he warned of devastating military action against Iran.
Backing the tone, U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth reinforced the message in a brief statement, saying, “Back to the Stone Age.”
In an earlier address, Trump reiterated the possibility of force, stating, “We are going to hit them extremely hard… we’re going to bring them back to the stone ages.”
As tensions continue to escalate, global observers remain on edge over the possibility of a broader regional conflict with far-reaching consequences.
