Trump Announces ‘Operation Epic Fury,’ Claims Major Strikes on Iran

U.S. President Donald J. Trump has announced the launch of a large-scale military offensive dubbed “Operation Epic Fury,” targeting multiple sites across Iran.
In a statement released via X and attributed to the White House, Trump said the operation struck facilities linked to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps as well as Iranian air defence systems. According to him, U.S. forces hit strategic targets within a 36-hour window.
“We have successfully carried out massive precision strikes on key military and strategic installations in Iran under Operation Epic Fury,” Trump said. “Our forces performed brilliantly, and the mission objectives are being achieved.”
The president claimed that several naval assets were destroyed during the strikes. He further alleged that Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, along with senior members of the country’s military leadership, had been killed. Independent confirmation of those claims was not immediately available at the time of filing this report.
“Those responsible for threatening the United States and our allies have been decisively dealt with,” Trump stated. “This operation sends a clear message that America will not tolerate aggression.”
Trump said combat operations remain ongoing and would continue until U.S. objectives are achieved. He also claimed that some Iranian officials had sought immunity and signaled interest in surrendering, though no further details were provided.
The United States Central Command confirmed that three U.S. service members were killed during the operation. Trump extended condolences to their families and acknowledged the possibility of further casualties as military actions continue.
“Our hearts are with the brave Americans who made the ultimate sacrifice,” he said. “We honor their courage and commitment to defending our nation.”
According to the president, the offensive is aimed at preventing Iran from developing or acquiring long-range missile and nuclear capabilities. He reiterated his administration’s position that Iran poses a security threat and pledged continued military action to protect U.S. interests.
Operation Epic Fury marks a significant escalation in tensions between Washington and Tehran, with global leaders expected to react as developments unfold.
