Trump delivers first post-victory speech at Mar-a-Lago with Elon Musk, RFK Jr. in attendance
President-elect Donald Trump made his first public appearance since winning the White House during a speech at the America First Policy Institute gala at Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach, Florida.
The event, held Thursday night, gathered several notable attendees, including tech billionaire Elon Musk, venture capitalist Vivek Ramaswamy, and former independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
In his speech, Trump announced his pick for various key roles, nominating RFK Jr. to lead the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), where he vowed to combat misinformation from the “industrial food complex and drug companies.”

Trump also introduced North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum as his nominee for the Department of the Interior. Additionally, Trump nominated Congressman Matt Gaetz as attorney general, a choice that has generated bipartisan controversy due to an unresolved ethics probe into Gaetz’s alleged misconduct.
Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy, appointed as co-chairs of Trump’s newly established Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), were present at the gala. Trump shared lighthearted remarks about Musk’s frequent visits to Mar-a-Lago, noting that the tech CEO “just likes this place.”
Hollywood star Sylvester Stallone, who introduced Trump, praised the president-elect as a “mythical character” and likened him to “the second George Washington.”
