A Global Campaign Offers Practical Solutions for Life’s Problems.

NEW YORK — September 2024 — Shirley James often wondered where she could find practical advice for the struggles of daily life. The answers came from an unlikely source.

The Harlem, New York, resident found clear solutions in the Scriptures through a free Bible course provided by Jehovah’s Witnesses. Now Shirley will be among the more than eight million volunteers worldwide who will participate in a global campaign in September to extend the same offer to community members.

“My study of the Bible revealed its reliability and trustworthiness as a practical guide for daily living,” said Shirley. “The wisdom and profound truths I found eased my fears and gave me a positive outlook for the future. I’m eager to help others discover the invaluable insights and teachings found in the Bible.”

The Witnesses organize yearly special campaigns to raise awareness of how the Scriptures address the concerns of the public. “Each year our campaigns have touched the lives of people in the community. Some who lost hope have developed a positive view of the future based on what they’ve learned from the Bible,” said Mark Godoy, local spokesperson for the nonprofit organization. “We want to keep the door open and build on the positive responses we are receiving from our Bible education program.”

An interactive and concise three-lesson brochure titled “Enjoy Life Forever!” is included in the campaign and explains what the Bible teaches on these subjects:

• How Can the Bible Help You?
• The Bible Gives Hope for the Future.
• Can You Trust the Bible?

“The course is free and there is no obligation. All we ask is for people to try it out and see for themselves how the Bible is still practical and relevant today,” said Godoy. “The advice it gives can help us successfully navigate life’s challenges.”

The course comes with an extended learning option that details how to apply time-tested Bible-based advice for making good decisions, building lasting friendships and cultivating a happy family life.

Anyone interested can meet with an instructor either in person or virtually and at a time convenient for the individual. In 2023, the Witnesses conducted an average of more than seven million Bible studies each month in some 240 lands.

Shirley is thankful to be among that seven million. “The Bible has changed my perspective on life, offering invaluable guidance during these challenging times and an assuring hope for the future,” she said. “I’m happy to assist others in understanding and benefiting from the profound yet simple truths found in the Bible.”
