Parkchester resident raises safety concerns over maintenance door policies
A Parkchester resident, Lisa Cedeno , has raised concern over security measures in the neighborhood.
Cedeno, a longtime Parkchester resident, expressed her worries regarding maintenance workers leaving doors open during their tasks.
“Parkchester maintenance workers work hard. However, I believe they shouldn’t keep the doors open,” Cedeno wrote.
Her concern centers on the potential risks of leaving entryways unmonitored.
“They should use their keys to go in and out and not leave the doors open where anyone can get in,” she elaborated, emphasizing the need for improved security measures in light of today’s safety challenges.
“I understand the process, but under the times we are living in and all that is happening, they have to come up with a better process for the safety of all families,” Cedeno urged.
In contrast, another resident, Jesus Vilchez, offered a different perspective on the issue. Vilchez defended the actions of maintenance workers, pointing out the logistical challenges they face.
“He’s removing the garbage/boxes and placing them in the outside cart. It’s hard to do with the door closed,” Vilchez explained, highlighting the practical difficulties of performing maintenance tasks while ensuring doors remain closed.
