Former President Donald Trump addressed concerns raised by reporters regarding his close relationship with conservative activist Laura Loomer.

His remarks come in the wake of ongoing debates within the Republican Party about Loomer’s controversial statements and actions.

When a reporter inquired, “What would you say to your Republican colleagues or your allies who are concerned about your close relationship with Laura Loomer?” Trump responded with a firm defense of Loomer, stating, “Well, I don’t know what they would say. Laura’s been a supporter of mine, just like a lot of people are supporters, and she’s been a supporter of mine.”

Trump went on to emphasize Loomer’s positive impact on his campaign, saying, “She speaks very positively of the campaign. I’m not sure why you asked that question, but Laura is a supporter.”

He reiterated his lack of control over Loomer’s actions, asserting, “I can’t tell Laura what to do. She’s a free spirit.”

The former president expressed his appreciation for Loomer’s strong personality, stating, “Look, I can’t tell Laura what to do. She’s a supporter, and I have a lot of supporters.”

He concluded his defense by acknowledging her independence: “I don’t know what exactly you’re referring to, but that’s okay. Laura’s a supporter. I don’t know. She is a strong person with strong opinions, and I don’t know what she said, but that’s not up to me. She’s a supporter. Please.”
