Newark implements full-week curfew for minors
Newark officials have announced a significant measure aimed at enhancing public safety during the summer months, as a new curfew targeting minors under the age of 18 will soon expand to cover all seven days of the week.
Currently, the curfew restricts minors from being outside overnight exclusively on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. However, effective June 21st, the Summer Safety Initiative will broaden its scope to encompass every day of the week.
This initiative comes amidst ongoing efforts to address concerns related to youth safety and community well-being, particularly during the summer season when outdoor activities and gatherings tend to increase.
By implementing a comprehensive curfew, city authorities aim to mitigate potential risks and maintain a secure environment for residents of all ages.
The expanded curfew underscores Newark’s commitment to proactive measures that prioritize public safety, especially during times when communities may experience heightened social activities and gatherings.
City officials urge residents and guardians to comply with these regulations and support efforts to uphold safety standards throughout the summer months.
