Bronx BP Gibson condemns racism against City Island businesses
Bronx Borough President Vanessa Gibson has strongly condemned the racist letters sent to the City Island businesses.
Gibson expressed her displeasure in a statement shared via her Facebook page on Sunday November 13, 2022.
While reacting, the Borough president reacted that “Hate has no place in our borough and we stand with our business community on City Island in condemning these acts of racism and antisemitism.
She stated that the hateful messages which are targeting business community on City Island are “disgusting and egregious”.
“We will never accept any form of hate, bigotry, racism, or antisemitism in our borough and stand in solidarity with Seafood Kings, Caliente’s, and Archie’s Tap and Table in condemning these acts of hate,” Gibson stated.
She added, “Our office has been in communication with the NYPD Hate Crimes Unit, and we ask our business community to be aware of any suspicious activity and report it immediately to the authorities.”
