“Being a person of color puts people on a targeted hit list”, White American man condemns police brutality, white supremacy
A Texas-based White American, David Head, has publicly condemned police brutality and white supremacy, after seeing the incidence that led to the death of Georgia Floyd in Minneapolis police custody.
“I see my brothers and sisters dying for no reason, and the pigs don't even have to conceal it. I'm so God damn sick, just the thought that "my people" can treat other humans like this… It's not even a hit or miss the percentages are too… high to be coincidence,” Head posted in Facebook Poetry Society.
“Being a person of color puts people on a targeted hit list,” he added.
In an exclusive interview with Parkchester Times correspondent, Head described the action of the policemen as unjust, which is mostly silenced and most times aided by mainstream media.
“I feel it is unjust regardless of any potential crime he committed beforehand. I think that is just another brush the media will use to paint the police officer involved here in a normal or even positive light,” Head said.
While responding to a question on his reason for saying being a person of color puts people on a targeted hit list, he said, “I see minorities treated by people in positions of power. I feel that way because I see it. Jim Crow laws may not directly exist anymore but their fallout is still very obvious to me.”
He then called on the authority to ensure the police officers involved in the killing of Floyd don’t go unpunished.
“When people become just another number or statistic I believe it can desensitize someone accustomed to that field of work. That being said, officers who act out of line must still be held accountable just as you and I would,” he stated.
Head concluded by admonishing his fellow white American to shun racism and cultivate the habit of kindness towards other fellow human race.
“We are all people. We all have mothers, fathers, family and friends. Everyone in the world wants the same thing in the end…, and that is happiness; every soul, white or black, wants to be free, to be themselves, unapologetically and unabashedly. We should all be accepting of that as long as we don't infringe on the rights of others.
“Be kind, treat others as you would want to be treated, and see through a person to their "soul". Like I said character and a person's social morals should matter over everything.
“I want an open United States. No one should be afraid to walk down a street. As Emma Lazarus said in The New Colossus: ‘Give me your tired, your poor; your huddled masses yearning to breathe free; the wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door!’ That is the America I want for my children,” Head retorted.
