Parrot TV Launches Weekly Show on Special Needs Community

Parrot TV and Parrot Media Corporation have announced the launch of a new weekly television programme, “Abled and On Air,” aimed at showcasing the abilities, resilience, and stories of people within the special needs community.
The programme, which premieres on April 11, 2026, will be hosted by veteran journalist and advocate Lawrence Seiler and will air every Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. on Parrot TV.
According to the Chief Executive Officer, Executive Producer and Director of Parrot TV and Parrot Media Corporation, Mutiu Olawuyi, the initiative reflects the organisation’s commitment to amplifying underrepresented voices.
“At Parrot TV and Parrot Media Corporation, we believe the media must not only inform, but also restore dignity, widen inclusion, and elevate voices too often pushed to the margins,” Olawuyi said. “With the launch of Abled and On Air, we are creating a platform that does not define people by limitations, but by humanity, talent, contribution, and possibility.”
He added that the programme aligns with the organisation’s editorial focus on inclusive and community-centred journalism, noting that it seeks to promote fairness in storytelling and highlight the achievements of people with special needs.
“This show is not merely about disability coverage; it is about justice in storytelling,” Olawuyi said.
Seiler, who also serves as producer of the programme, said the show builds on his over 30 years of experience in journalism and advocacy for vulnerable communities.
“With over 30 years of experience as a journalist and advocate, I have dedicated my career to highlighting issues of importance to the special needs community,” he said.
He explained that the programme would cover a wide range of topics, including autism and education, healthcare, technology, and culinary arts, while also addressing global issues affecting vulnerable populations.
“Our goal is to inform, inspire, and build greater awareness while showing how people with different abilities continue to contribute meaningfully to society,” Seiler added.
The launch of “Abled and On Air” marks an expansion of Parrot TV’s programming and reinforces Parrot Media Corporation’s commitment to public-interest journalism focused on diversity, inclusion, and community empowerment.
The programme will be available for viewing on Parrot TV’s YouTube channel, while updates will also be shared across its affiliated platforms, including The Bronx Post, Parkchester Times, and New York Parrot.
