Governor Josh Shapiro of Pennsylvania launched a blistering attack on former President Donald Trump and his “wacky sidekick J.D. Vance,” accusing them of indifference towards women rights.

Shapiro’s remarks came as he championed the cause of women’s freedom and healthcare rights, urging voters to stand up for expanded liberties.

“I think a lot of politicians do care about people. I certainly do here in Pennsylvania but unfortunately you’ve got Donald Trump and a lot of his offspring, including that wacky sidekick J.D. Vance who genuinely don’t care about women in this country,” Shapiro declared, setting the tone for his critique.

The Governor accused Trump and his allies of attempting to “restrict [women’s] freedom” and intervene in personal decisions.

“They want to get in between them and their doctors, them and their families, and them and their loved ones,” he said, emphasizing the personal nature of these rights.

Reflecting on the historical significance of Independence Hall, Shapiro continued, “And I think it is really an affront to what our Founding Fathers set in motion right behind me here at Independence Hall two hundred and forty-eight years ago.”

He acknowledged that while the Founding Fathers might not have debated abortion rights, the essence of their legacy was one of expanding freedoms through generations.

“We’re in the midst of a political generation right now where Donald Trump has managed to take away freedom from millions of women across this country,” Shapiro asserted, highlighting the ongoing struggle for rights and freedoms.

Concluding his speech, Shapiro emphasized the urgent need to defend American values, stating, “And that I think is an affront to our values as Americans and something that we’ve got to stand up and fight for in this election, for more freedom not less, and making sure people have a full range of healthcare options available to them no matter what state they live in.”

His call to action resonated with those who value the expansion of rights and freedoms for all citizens.
