5 arrested, child removed in Queens village drug, gun bust
Five individuals have been apprehended, and a 10-year-old child has been removed from a residence in Queens Village, as authorities uncovered a cache of firearms and narcotics, including the deadly fentanyl.
According to a report, the incident unfolded on Wednesday September 20, 2023, shaking the quiet neighborhood.
The report unveiled, “Officers from the Queens Village Police Department acted swiftly, executing a search warrant at a single-family home located on 100th Avenue, at approximately 4:40 a.m. What they discovered inside was a disturbing inventory of illegal contraband.”
It stated that “a total of four firearms were seized, one of them identified as an AK-47, further escalating concerns about the potential danger lurking within the home.”
Additionally, authorities discovered four kilo presses, which are often associated with the illegal drug trade, and approximately four kilograms of illicit substances, comprising cocaine, heroin, and the highly potent and deadly synthetic opioid, fentanyl.
In a chilling twist to the story, it was revealed that the child, aged just 10 years, had been residing on the second floor of the residence, directly adjacent to a room teeming with illegal drugs. Shockingly, this young individual is related to one of the suspects, raising grave questions about their welfare and safety in such a hazardous environment.
The unsettling discoveries did not end there. The basement of the house also yielded a stash of firearms and narcotics, underscoring the extent of the illicit activities being carried out within this once unassuming family home.
As of now, authorities have refrained from disclosing the identities of the suspects or the specific charges they will face. The gravity of this situation has left the Queens Village community in a state of shock and concern, as they grapple with the troubling reality of dangerous firearms and drugs infiltrating their neighborhood.
This incident serves as a stark reminder of the ongoing challenges faced by law enforcement in the battle against drug-related crimes and the critical importance of safeguarding the welfare of children caught in the crossfire of such illicit activities. Further details are expected to emerge as the investigation unfolds.
