NYS Attorney General, Letitia James, commends enactment of laws to end sexual harassment
The New York State Attorney General, Letitia James, has commended the State's Governor, Kathy Hochul, for the enactment of laws to combat sexual harassment.
Appreciating the governor via her Facebook page on Wednesday March 16, 2022, James lamented the pervasiveness of sexual harassment in the state.
In her words, "Sexual harassment is pervasive, corrosive, and has been a silent barrier for women in the workplace for far too long."
She added, "Thank you Governor Kathy Hochul and to the bill sponsors for enacting new laws to combat sexual harassment in New York.
"Most importantly, thank you to the Sexual Harassment Working Group and other brave advocates for shining a light in the darkest corners and fighting tirelessly to make these critical protections a reality."
She stated that the new laws will go a long way towards protecting people from harassment and retaliation.
