Our next National Action Network Bronx chapter monthly town hall members meeting will be held on Saturday May 4th 2019 from 2pm-4pm at the Christian Charismatic Prayer Fellowship Church located at 1069 Morris ave in the Bronx at the corner of 166th street and Morris Avenue. This month's topic of discussion will be mental health. Since 1949, the month of May has been observed as Mental Health awareness Month in the United States and many national organizations such as NAMI, Mental HealthAmerica, and other affiliates spotlight Mental Health awareness Month to raise awareness about the importance of mental health and to stop the stigma associated with mental health.

Just last Saturday April 20th 2019 we had a special, National mental health first aid responders certification course at the NAN Bronx chapter which was coordinated by our Bronx NAN Chapter Director of Crisis Intervention Ricardo Shark and myself NAN Bronx chapter President Dr. Philip Gates Jordan.

Mental health is a topic that touches a broad spectrum of people and many different   demographics, which is why we have a diverse panel of guest speakers lined up such as Robert Jackson, who's a Civil Rights Activist and a County Committee member for New York State, next is Wesley Caines whos and Re-entry and Community Outreach Coordinator for the Bronx Defenders Organization, next we will have M.C Sha Rock who's Hip Hop Culture's First Female Emcee and a Founding member of Hip Hop Culture!!! next is Delia FARQUHARSON who's a City Council Woman for the city of Mount Vernon, NY...Then we have Khady Diaby who's the African Immigrants Commissioner of Family Affairs for NY & CT and last but not least is Mory Kouyate who's the NY & CT Chairman of the African Immigrants Commission. Well there you have it...we hope to see you in the building on May 4th from 2-4 pm.
